Lucia Gardossi is a Professor of Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of
Trieste and a member of the Directive Board of the Italian National Technology Cluster of “Green Chemistry” SPRING.
In this seminar she will explain the role that Chemistry, seen both as a discipline and as an industrial sector, has in the achievement of many of the Sustainable Development Goals. She will introduce the role that chemistry has a phenomenal driver of technological, social and economic innovation. She will explain the current challenges that chemistry is experiencing in this sector as well as its contributions. She will also explain how chemistry, integrated with biotechnologies, is able to enhance the biodiversity of territories and ecosystems, and in turn contribute also to growth and social well-being.
